Scania Malaysia wins Technology Business Review Award

The award was presented to Scania Malaysia for Excellence in Vehicle Manufacturing – Heavy Vehicle Segment.  The Technology Business Review is a prominent business magazine in Malaysia.

 

“The award signifies Scania’s commitment in providing customers with the best vehicles that offer excellent reliability, fuel consumption and uptime,” said Mr Peter Sjöblom, Managing Director of Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. 

 

The selection committee for the awards comprised of prominent businessmen, academicians and professionals.   The committee was impressed with Scania’s focus on technology and R&D, as well as having a very customer-friendly business focus.   The committee also looked at the Scania organization in Malaysia, where it was apparent that staff here were very dedicated to their jobs and was proud of the Scania brand and image. 

 

The award ceremony was a lavish event, held at the Palace of the Golden Horses hotel, just south of Kuala Lumpur.   Many prominent Malaysian businessmen attended, as did royalty, ambassadors and other dignitaries.

 

Coincidentally, the Swedish ambassador to Malaysia, Ms Helena Sangeland, presented the award to Mr Peter Sjöblom, representing Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

 

In accepting the award on behalf of Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Mr Peter Sjöblom dedicated the award to all the staff of the organization.   “This award is a result of your hard work and dedication,” he said, before ending his speech with the catch phrase, “…pembaikan berterusan!” which in the Malay language literally means “continuous improvement!”.
