In 1994, the first locally assembled truck rolled out of our assembly plant and up to date, we have invested RM 50 million in our operations in Malaysia as a commitment to our customers and towards the country’s industrial aspirations.
July 2000 marked another milestone for Scania in Malaysia. As part of the efforts to be closer to its customers, a new fully-owned subsidiary of Scania CV AB – Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd – was created to handle the assembly, distribution, sales and after-sales of Scania vehicles in Malaysia.
The Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd headquarters complex is strategically located along the North-South Highway, and is accessible to major ports. The complex spans 4 acres, and houses a fully equipped modern central workshop, state-of-the-art warehousing system as well as a Sales Operations Centre with ample car, truck and bus parking. Today, the Scania network in Malaysia covers all strategic transport points in Peninsular Malaysia, and in Sabah. A new workshop in Sarawak has also been operational since 2007.
Malaysia is also the regional hub for Scania in South East Asia, covering markets such as Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. This regional office is located at the Scania Bukit Jelutong complex, and also houses the regional training centre where mechanics, technicians, driver trainers and managers from the Asia Pacific region are trained to provide Scania customers the best possible service.
With fully owned subsidiaries and strategically located workshops in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, Scania is in the best position to provide a wide spectrum of quality products and the very best in after-sales services to suit our customers anywhere in the region.
